In April 2004, the Bowers family bought the hotel. Ron, Peter and Mary believe Lagg is a very special place and they want their guests to enjoy the tranquillity and rustic charm that are the unique characteristics of their home.

Having undergone some refurbishment, Lagg has thirteen bedrooms, including three single and two family rooms, two dining rooms, a residents lounge, sun lounge and lounge bar. Log fires blaze throughout the public areas with the homely smell of burning logs to welcome guests in.

All bedrooms are of good proportion with en suite bathrooms, tea and coffee making facilities, colour television. Most of the bedrooms overlook the extensive gardens with the front and side facing rooms enjoying the best views towards the river, garden and surrounding woodland.

Some of the back bedrooms have skylight windows where you can lay in bed and look at the stars in the black night sky. Lagg has no street lights and is a great destination for astronomers.

Guests are invited to relax and unwind while at Lagg and to make use of the private, peaceful areas both within the hotel and gardens.

Lagg Hotel is a popular lunch stop on the road around the island. As you drop down into its wooded hollow you want to stay for a while to enjoy the tranquility of the gardens.

Many cyclists, coastal way walkers and motorists visit Lagg hotel . There is a bus stop beside the hotel so even if you are relying on public transport you can explore Lagg. Explore Arran. Have a Lagg pub lunch then take a walk down the wooded path to the biggest sandy beach on the Island.

"Come for lunch, stay for dinner and return for a holiday!"
